Week 3 - Senior Year

We are now half way through week 3 of Senior year at DigiPen. I feel like I am getting settled into the rhythm of my classes. Between my GAM-4XX class and my portfolio class, I feel that I have already achieved more than I have regarding my resume, website and other things to get potential employer's attention.

This week I was able to get my mostly updated. I look forward to completing more tasks in my GAM-4XX and other projects so I can add experience to my resume and website. I have also been enjoying writing this blog, granted it has only been 3 weeks now.

I admit that I am not the best writer even though I still enjoy it. My hope for this blog is help specifically DigiPen students, but really any CS student, with navigating the emotional toll of senior year at DigiPen and especially finding a job after graduation. Hopefully I can document the things that I did to help get employers attention and let the next generation of students know what worked and didn't work.

For starters, I am so glad that I started my sophomore year in prepping my resume and website. It is definitely better to update a little bit at a time while it is fresh in my mind rather than have to remember exactly all the things I did two years ago. Even at prime at of 36, I can't remember the specifics what I did sophomore year.

It does not matter if your just out of high school with no experience. START BUILDING A RESUME NOW.

DES-499 with Ben Ellinger has been an awesome class to force me to get my crap together and be serious about what I want to do for career and then prepping for it.

Another task that I started this week and am already really enjoying is getting back into practicing for coding assessments. My friend, Mike, turned me on to this website called NeetCode. The creator of the website has basically take everything from LeetCode and condensed it down to 150 practice problems and created a road map for those practice problems. To me, LeetCode was too big and overwhelming. This site is much more focused and streamlined. An hour a day keeps the unemployment checks away.

On a more personal note, a couple months ago, I read the book titled "The Obesity Code". I am trying to lose some weight but in my opinion, the traditional explanations for weight loss didn't make sense. After reading this book, I have loss 32lbs. The real reason that I bring this up is that my mind feels sharper. I feel like I don't have anywhere near the level of brain fog that I had in the past. I am finding it much easier to learn about things and remember them. I feel really good mentally and physically.

**I don't get any financial incentives for telling you about LeetCode or The Obesity Code. These two products are currently working for me.
